In April 2019 Dr Saima Naz joined Nur International University Lahore as a Lecturer in the Department of Clinical Nutrition. In September 2020 she was promoted as Assistant Professor on successful completion of her PhD degree.

She became Acting HOD in 2023 with the establishment of Department of Food Science and Technology. She has been promoted to Associate Professor in 2024. Currently, she is teaching BS Food Science and Technology (BSFST), MS Food Science and Technology (MSFST), BS Nutritional Sciences (BSNS) and MS Food, Nutrition & Dietetics (MSFND) courses. She is also an HEC Approved PhD supervisor. She is supervising the research of MSFST and MSFND students. 

She is working as focal person for Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign at NIU and holds awareness session each year in the month of October. She is also the focal person from NIU for SUNAR (Scaling Up Nutrition-Academics and Research). She also actively encourages students to participate in extra-curricular activities. She has been supervising the NIU students for DICE Event (DICE-Distinguished Innovations, Collaborations and Entrepreneurship is a USA based foundation, which holds Mega Event regarding Innovations and Entrepreneurship in Pakistan at different universities annually) since 2018 and students won prize each tear for NIU under her supervision. She is the convener of NIU Environmental Society and member of NIU Sports Club.

Her title of PhD thesis was “Development and characterization of encapsulated flaxseed oil as a potential delivery system of ω-3 fatty acid”. During her PhD degree she worked for 6 months at University of Nebraska, Lincoln-USA for her research work under HEC IRSIP scholarship. She was also awarded with HEC Indigenous Scholarship for her PhD degree. Her MSc (Hons) research title was “Effects of different levels of whole wheat flour addition on the physico-chemical and sensory characteristics of Frozen Paratha during storage”. During her BSc (Hons) degree she worked in the Quality Assurance Department of Nestle Sheikhupura Factory.
