WHAT IS BS RESPIRATORY THERAPY?
BS Respiratory Therapy (RT) is a 4-year degree program to train students to be leaders in their field of specialization. The RT graduates will be equipped to demonstrate the ability to comprehend, apply, and evaluate clinical information as a respiratory care practitioner and apply problem-solving and critical thinking skills in all areas of respiratory care, especially during diseases like Covid-19. The program focuses on providing students with appropriate knowledge, hands-on training, and techniques of the foundation courses in all skills necessary to fulfill the role as a respiratory care practitioner. Ultimately, graduates will be equipped with the technical skills needed to provide respiratory care accurately and efficiently in laboratory and clinical areas and to display a professional attitude to the code of ethics.

SCOPE
Graduate of this degree can work: As a respiratory therapist in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, sleep disorder centers, rehabilitation, long-term acute care and skilled nursing facilities, patients’ homes, patient transport systems, physicians’ offices, wellness centers; as athletic trainer; can work as policy maker in local, state, and federal government agencies and public health departments; as an academician to teaching to under and post graduates; as a researcher.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The graduates of the program may pursue their career as respiratory units in various intensive care units, general hospital floors, rehabilitation center, sub-acute unit, home care pediatrics, pulmonary function labs, education Coordinators, college or university faculty. In the public sector, they are eligible for direct recruitment in gazetted pay scale (BS-17) in Clinical or Cadre and BS-18 in Teaching Cadre, after their post-graduation.

• The above Fee Structure does not include any govt. taxes and students will be charged taxes u/s 236 I of income tax ordinance. Students will be charged taxes when their annual fee would be more than PKR 200,000/-
• The fees and related charges are subject to revision at any time against non-proportionate inflation or an increase in the cost of the provision of services
• Additional Per Credit Hour Fee will be charged for Summer Semester or separate course offered during the normal tenure to meet the deficiency requirement
