WHAT IS BS Optometry
Optometry is a healthcare profession concerned with examination, diagnosis and treatment of the human visual system. In our ageing population the demand for eye care is expected to increase, and optometrists are ideally placed to help meet this demand. The program is based on both fundamental academic sciences as well as detailed clinical and practical studies. The emphasis is very much on the optometric service to patients.

OPTOMETRY
PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVES (POs)
Within 4 years of graduation, Optometry graduates will be able to:
1. To demonstrate professional competence in optometry practice by providing safe, effective, and patient-centered eye care services in clinical, hospital, and community settings.
2. To apply ethical principles, effective communication skills, and teamwork while working independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare environments.
3. To pursue lifelong learning through continuing professional development, advanced studies, research, and adoption of emerging technologies in optometry and vision sciences.
4. To exhibit leadership, responsibility, and decision-making skills in clinical practice, education, community eye care programs, and healthcare management.
5. To contribute to the improvement of public eye health through preventive care, health promotion, community outreach, and evidence-based practices at national and international levels.
PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES (PLOs)
Graduates of the (Optometry) program can pursue careers in:
1. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, optics, visual science, and optometry clinical sciences.
2. Perform complete eye examinations, including refraction, binocular vision assessment, and ocular health evaluation, using appropriate clinical techniques and instruments.
3. Identify, manage, and appropriately refer common refractive errors, binocular vision anomalies, ocular diseases, and visual disorders.

• The above Fee Structure does not include any govt. taxes and students will be charged taxes u/s 236 I of income tax ordinance. Students will be charged taxes when their annual fee would be more than PKR 200,000/-
• The fees and related charges are subject to revision at any time against non-proportionate inflation or an increase in the cost of the provision of services
• Additional Per Credit Hour Fee will be charged for Summer Semester or separate course offered during the normal tenure to meet the deficiency requirement
