As Nur International University Lahore has launched Life Skills Program with The City School System for the awareness of Students, parents and faculty members on Physical Therapy, Nutrition, Speech Language and Pathology and Psychological issues.
First activity held on 15th February, 2020 at The City School, Gulberg III branch, Lahore from 10am to 1pm. The event was well organized and there was also different stalls regarding multiple activities. The stall by NIU comprised of 4 health desks- Nutritionist, Physical Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist and Psychologist. Nur International University's best faculty and experts guided students and parents on all above- mentioned issues and had one to one session with them.
Our Nutritionist was Ms. Shazia Zahra – Assistant Professor, Nutrition Department, NIU. There was total number of 12 queries. The parents were very keen to be guided in a
good way concerning their along with their children health. Mostly the queries were about general health and diet plan. Our Speech Language Pathologists was Ms. Rabia Asamt – HOD, Speech, Language and Pathology, NIU along with her two students from SPL department. There was total number of 11 queries. The queries were about speech delay, articulation error, English speaking avoid multilingualism, lack of confidence, attention impairing issues, disfluencies exercises and hearing impaired.
Our Psychologist was Ms. Naeema Sarfaraz – Lecturer & Campus Counsellor, Applied Psychology Department, NIU. There was total number of 6 queries. The queries were about behavioral issues, dyslexia, specific learning problems, elder brother issues, issues with relation to friends, low confidence level and issues with socialization skills. Our Physical Therapist was Dr. Tayyaba Niaz – Lecturer, Doctor of Physical Therapy Department, NIU. There was total number of 2 queries. The queries were about neck and joint pains. NIU Bags (Mug, Keychain, Brochures, Ball point and Calendar) were presented to the management of The City School who helped in organizing this event and Chief Guest Ms. Sadia MPA, PTI.
Student/Parents data was also gathered for future marketing purpose. NIU Brochures were distributed among all the participants of event.
